Modern English High School (MES)

We have identified and have been supporting 8 children through partial scholarships. These are children from under-privileged lower income groups, some of them first-generation learners and 3 of them from the minority community.

Parents of these children are periodically met by the Trustees to try and ensure a nurturing home environment and resolution of problems, particularly of children whose academic record is dipping.

Simultaneously, our Trustee N.S. Iyer had conducted a Training/Transformational Workshop for Teachers on 2nd July, 2017 to inspire and ensure their engagement so as to fulfill the aspirations of the students.

Mission
To play a catalytic role in upgrading infrastructure, providing and making qualitative changes in educational and health inputs to existing private and municipal educational institutions. Our motive is to positively transform the lives of school children.

Methodology

  • HEAD Foundation initiated interventions in the privately funded Modern English High School at Chedda Nagar. 8 students from the economically weaker sections – with some being first generation school goers – are being substantially supported by the Head Foundation through payment of School Fee, Counselling and a Process of Continuous review.
  • Parents of these students are being regularly met by the Trustees to ensure conducive environment is provided at home, and that the child’s progress is also tracked by the parents.
  • We conducted a workshop for teachers with the basic objective of ensuring engagement amongst the teachers to fulfill the aspirations of the students and carve out a plan for the future of the school. Plans were formulated by the teachers and some of these are under execution.
