Balu Iyer is a senior management professional with more than 40 years of corporate experience. He did his MBA from IIM Ahmedabad in 1978 after completing his Chemical Engineering at ICT, Mumbai.
Balu is currently the CEO of Printo and Canvera and on the Board of both the companies. He joined the group in 2010 and grew the business from Rs.12 crores to Rs. 110 crores this financial year.
Under his leadership the company has grown from a start up to a growing and profitable business with a Pan India presence.
Balu started his career in Pond’s in1980, which was subsequently acquired by Unilever. He spend 25 years in Hindustan Unilever across various business. After initial contributions in cosmetic business, managing the export business, he took on the challenge of setting up a large integrated Mushroom growing and processing facility at Ooty which soon got replicated in many parts of the country. He also set up a confectionery business for Unilever before moving on to join CAMS in Chennai where he set up a new insurance vertical to complement their leadership position in Mutual funds processing.
He is married to Girija and they have two children who pursue their own passion and interests.
