L.K. Narayan is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, with national and international experience. He has unparalleled experience of working in some of the most well-known Indian Financial Institutions almost from the time these were established.
He held senior positions at Crisil Ltd as General Manager in charge of Ratings, at DSP Merrill Lynch as Vice-President and Head of Fixed Income Origination and at IDFC Ltd as Executive Director and Group Chief Financial Officer.
In what is rare for an Indian, he quit when he was still at the top and in February 2011 took the decisive step to leave corporate life at age 55 to involve himself completely in an honorary capacity as full-time volunteer of Isha Foundation, Coimbatore. Isha Foundation is a not-for-profit public charitable trust that offers yoga as a transformative possibility to people.
He is happily married and resides in Chembur, Mumbai with his wife Sujata, who works shoulder-to-shoulder with him in Isha Foundation. They have one daughter.
